-Eat a variety of foods. More vegetables and fruits, less protein, and grains. Nutrient-dense whole real foods.

-Eat foods low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol. 

-Eat less sugar. Read labels on added sugar content.

-Limit amount of salt and sodium. Read labels and be aware.

-Drink adequate amounts of water. Replace soda and sugar-filled drinks with water. 

-Practice portion control. Half of your plate should be vegetables and fruit. 

-Move your body daily, reduce sedentary lifestyles.

-Improve gradually over time. Take small steps to improve diet and lifestyle every day.
